Kulisha, named after the Swahili word “to feed”, is a wastewater treatment solution that converts organic bio solids into a sustainable insect-based protein for use in animal feeds. These insects require vastly fewer resources to raise but provide all the essential nutrients. They sell this animal feed protein to retailers who will sell to the farmers. Their team is based in both Kenya and the USA.
Kulisha was a finalist in the 2016 Sustainable Business Plan Collaboration program, and presented at our 2016 Annual Gathering.
