Groundit is a Canadian company that cuts down the amount of coffee ground waste generated during the brewing process. The company transforms this waste into high-quality compost. By combining the right amount of coffee grounds with green-waste of coffee shops (i.e. tea bags, cardboard and food residue), they produce a premium mixture that is safer and more efficient for gardeners and farmers to use. Their customers are small and large coffee shops, and consumers seeking fertilizer for their plants or flowers. Audrey Bolduc, CEO & Co-Founder, is a graduate of McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurship and Managing for Sustainability. Her co-founder, Mitalie Makhani, is a PhD student in the Renewable Resources program at the McGill Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
