‘Bachelor’ Star Sean Lowe Partners with Fellow ‘Bachelorette’ Contestant Alejandro Velez to Donate 125,000 Meals Supporting Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

“Bachelor” & “Bachelorette” star Sean Lowe has partnered with fellow ‘Bachelorette’ contestant Alejandro Velez to donate 125,000 breakfast cereal meals in support of Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. The organic cereal is from Back to the Roots, a company Velez co-founded in Oakland, CA.

“[I’m] so thankful for the chance to team up with Back to the Roots and donate 125,000 meals to the Houston area! I’ve seen the devastation firsthand and my heart breaks for the families affected and I realize food is a primary concern for many. We hope this helps in the effort to alleviate that concern for some,” says Sean Lowe.

The Back to the Roots organic breakfast cereal will be distributed throughout the Houston area via the national nonprofit Feeding America.

“We were so inspired by Sean’s response to the tragedy unfolding in Houston – rushing down there and doing whatever he could to help. We connected and immediately began talking to see what else we could do together to support the families in Houston,” said Velez.

Back to the Roots currently offers its cereals throughout the Texas area in Whole Foods Market stores and the Austin and Dallas public school systems. Sean Lowe was born and currently lives in Texas.

“Our heart goes out to all the families suffering from the devastating impact of Hurricane Harvey and we’re grateful for the support of Feeding America to help us get food to the Houston area quickly,” said Back to the Roots co-founder Nikhil Arora.
