Shell partners with Sparkfund, GridPoint to create subscription-based energy bundling service

Building off of their Shell New Energies division, Shell Energy has partnered with energy technology subscription company Sparkfund and smart buildings tech company Gridpoint to create a subscription bundle energy service for smart buildings.

The service, called Shell Energy Inside, utilizes Sparkfund’s subscription engine and pairs it with GridPoint Energy Manager — a controls and analytics platform. Offered to all commercial, industrial and municipal customers of Shell in North America, it aims to combine retail power supply, demand response and the technologies that help meet them all into a single package.

“We are very excited to be launching Shell Energy Inside in North America with GridPoint and Sparkfund as founding partners,” Brian Davis, vice president of energy solutions at Shell, said. “This offering enables us to help businesses meet their cost, sustainability, and resiliency goals. Today’s announcement is in line with our strategy to partner with leading companies to deliver more and cleaner energy solutions to new and existing customers.”

Traditionally, these various offerings and services have been individual operations, with their own demands and needs. Shell and its partners hope the one offering will, in the end, create a more focused and powerful product for customers.
