EGG-Energy received an Honorable Mention notice in the 2010 William James Foundation Sustainable business Plan Competition, placed 1st for the Richard Heinberg Sustainability Prizes sponsored by the Foundation for a Sustainable Future, and received an honorable mention notice for the Africa Prize sponsored by Salesforce.

EGG-Energy still operating — they are dedicated to helping low-income consumers in Sub-Saharan Africa gain access to clean, affordable energy, using a unique strategy based around portable rechargeable activities. Each charged battery is sufficient to power lights and radio in a typical household for three days, and is recycled via existing recycling services at the end of its useful life.
