Madagascar Biofuels Company

The Madagascar Biofuels Company finished 3rd in the Washington, DC category of the 2011 William James Foundation Sustainable Business Plan Competition and placed 2nd for the Richard Heinberg Sustainability Prizes sponsored by the Foundation for a Sustainable Future. The Madagascar Biofuels Company is now called the BioD Project, and is a project of Hatch International, which is still in operation. The BioD team developed a low-cost and effective biodigester that converts organic waste into methane gas.
