Thank you once again for joining us last week at the Mentor Capital Network’s 13th Annual Gathering. If you haven’t already filled out the evaluation, please do so while your memories of the event are still fresh. It helps us build better events in the future. For those of you who were not able to attend the entire gathering: we chose the winners of the 2016 Chuck Dell prizes! More than 600 companies applied, and three where chosen as finalists. Those prizes were awarded as follows: Bebe Burkinabe¨ (f.k.a. known as Drink to Life) creates and distributes vitamin fortified liquid and powder drinks to support healthy pregnancies and child development in West Africa. Kulisha produces a low-cost, high-quality sustainable fish feed made from insects for use on aquaculture farms in Kenya. Manta Biofuel is a Baltimore based biotechnology firm that has developed a three step method for producing renewable crude oil from algae: Grow, Harvest and Convert. We also heard from dozens of social entrepreneurs and investors.
