REDF is seeking a consultant to design a Social Enterprise Fellowship Program that focuses specifically on employment-focused social enterprise directors from around the country. This program needs to support REDF’s goal of building leaders in the social enterprise space as well as align with other ongoing, field-building initiative. The consultant should have extensive experience in designing and running fellowship programs to help support this new program in a variety of capacities. This would include some amount of program design as well as, helping to launch and steer the program. This engagement would being in May/June 2016 and run through the end of 2016 with a possible extension into 2017. The exact amount of time needed is TBD based on the input and guidance we receive but we estimate 10-20 hours/week, May – December. To apply, sent resumes to Anastasia David.

MCN Alumni Updates Congrats to Evaptainers on receiving a Stage 1 grant from the US Agency for International Development through their Development Innovation Ventures Lab (USAID-DIV). The Stage 1 seed-funding grants allow organizations, universities, and individuals to refine and improve their ideas. USAID DIV grants are the gold standard in development funding and we could not be more proud to be a recipient of this prestigious grant. The grant will fund our upcoming large-scale partner field trial that we will conduct in Morocco in the 2016 growing season and give us a runway to commercial launch. (Source) We want YOUR updates! Seeking Social Entrepreneurs with Off-Grid Solutions Does your social enterprise have off grid solutions, or are you solving challenges in underserved communities? If so, read this: Humans on the Move: Rethinking the Marketplace is a program that seeks to bridge a market gap between impact investors, social entrepreneurs, and refugees, through a lens of ethical investment in existing solutions that address basic community needs and work to improve conditions for humans on the move. This year-long action and discussion series brings together a collective of impact investors, philanthropists, civil society professionals, refugees, social entrepreneurs, makers, and creatives. Through facilitated discussion and action-driven working groups, the creation of a dedicated impact investing fund, and targeted advisory services, this project will support solutions for and by refugees.
