2016 Bethesda Green Events (Honest Tea, Investor Fishbowl)

 HONEST TEA TOUR

JULY 6, 2016  –  BETHESDA, MD

Please join Net Impact and Mentor Capital Network for an evening with Honest Tea. Led by Seth Goldman, “TeaEO” of Honest Tea, you will have the opportunity to hear from the Honest Tea leadership, sample Honest Tea’s newest drinks, and mingle with fellow Net Impact members and staff of the Mentor Capital Network. Tea and refreshments will be provided.

This event is a great opportunity to get an in-depth, behind the scenes view of one of the most exciting and innovative companies around. After initial mingling and introductions, we will have senior staff from Honest Tea, Net Impact, and the Mentor Capital Network stationed around the room to facilitate introductions and conversations between smaller groups of attendees. This will allow our guests the opportunity to network with like-minded professionals and students, hear several different perspectives on Honest Tea, engage with Net Impact leadership about the upcoming conference (or any topic of your choosing), and learn more about the exciting ideas coming out of the Mentor Capital Network.

This is a great event that Honest Tea helps us host every year. It continues to grow in size and is always a big hit. We hope you will be able to join us!

WHEN: Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM (EDT)

WHERE: Honest Tea – 4827 Bethesda Ave, Bethesda, MD 20814

INVESTOR FISHBOWL

JUNE 20, 2016  –  ROCKVILLE, MD

Our next Investor Fishbowl will be June 20, 2016, in Rockville, MD. It is an opportunity for entrepreneurs behind pre-selected social enterprises to pitch in front of real investors who share their honest reactions and concerns with one another – in front of the entrepreneurs and the audience. All participants get an incredible behind-the-scenes peek into the mind of an experienced investor.

We’ll hear pitches from the following companies:

  • Kent Biodiesel.  They recycle used cooking oil from restaurants and hotels into cleaner burning BioDIESEL fuel and distributes the fuel to local customers.
  • Locals, LLC. A precision based farming company that grows organic produce using ecologically sustainable methods while maximizing our growing capabilities.
  • Manta Biofuel. They produce renewable algal crude oil that is cost competitive with traditional crude oil.

Each presenter will have an opportunity to give a 5-10 minute pitch in front of investors and the audience, followed by approximately 30-45 minutes of Q&A. After that, the investors will discuss the presentation as though the entrepreneur is not in the room, covering topics such as what they linked or didn’t like, what further information would they want to see, and the all-important question of whether or not they would invest in the company.

When: June 20th, 12pm – 5pm.
Where: Montgomery County Red Brick Courthouse at 29 Courthouse Square. Rockville, Maryland
